Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
The short version
- You must be 13 or older to use robloxsoundz.
- We collect only what we need to run the site: your email, a username, your password (which we can’t read), your date of birth, the sounds you like, and basic technical information.
- We don’t sell your information. We don’t show ads. We don’t track you across other websites.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Your information is then deleted.
- Questions or requests? Email support@robloxsoundz.com.
The full policy is below. We’ve tried to write it in plain language.
1. Who we are
robloxsoundz is a website where people can search for, listen to, and like Roblox sound IDs. It is run independently by robloxsoundz (“we”, “us”, “our”).
- Contact for privacy and your rights: support@robloxsoundz.com
- General feedback and suggestions: feedback@robloxsoundz.com (please don’t send privacy requests here, use the address above)
For the UK GDPR and similar laws, we are the “controller” of your personal information. That means we decide how and why it is used.
We are not affiliated with Roblox. robloxsoundz is an independent website. It is not made, sponsored, or endorsed by Roblox Corporation. “Roblox” is a trademark of Roblox Corporation.
2. Who can use robloxsoundz
- You must be at least 13 years old. We don’t allow children under 13 to have an account.
- We ask for your date of birth when you sign up, so we can check you are old enough.
- If you are under 13, we block the signup and don’t create an account.
- If we find out that someone under 13 has an account or has given us information, we will delete the account and the information. Parents or guardians who think this has happened can email support@robloxsoundz.com.
- Some countries set a higher age for using online services without a parent’s permission. You must also be old enough under the law where you live, or have your parent or guardian’s permission.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you give us
| What | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Email address | To create your account, sign you in, and send account emails (for example, password resets). |
| Username | To identify your account. Please don’t use your real name. |
| Password | To protect your account. We store it in a protected form, so we can’t read it. |
| Date of birth | To check you are at least 13. We keep your date of birth until you delete your account. |
| Likes | To remember which sounds you liked and to show the total like count on each sound. The total number of likes on each sound is shown to everyone. |
| Messages you send us | If you email us, we keep your message and our reply so we can help you. |
3.2 Information collected automatically
| What | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| IP address | To keep the site safe and stop abuse, for example limiting how many times someone can try to sign up, log in, or search in a short time. |
| Technical information such as browser type, device type, and the pages and web addresses requested | Recorded by our hosting systems so the site works and to find and fix problems and attacks. |
| Playing a sound | When you press play, your browser downloads the audio directly from Roblox’s servers, not from ours. Roblox, and the company that delivers its files, can therefore see your IP address and browser details. We don’t receive or store that information. |
| What you type in the search box | To show you results. It is part of the web address, so it may appear in our hosting logs. We don’t link your searches to your account or build a search history about you. |
| Login cookies | To keep you signed in. See “Cookies and similar technologies” below. |
3.3 Information about sounds and their uploaders
The sound information on robloxsoundz (such as the name, artist, length, and ID) comes from Roblox’s public catalog. This includes public information about the person or group that uploaded each sound, such as their Roblox user ID and name.
We use this only to show the catalog. If you uploaded a sound and want information about you removed from robloxsoundz, email support@robloxsoundz.com.
3.4 Things we don’t collect
We don’t collect your real name (unless you put it in your username or email), your address, your phone number, your precise location, payment card details, photos, or messages between users. We will update this policy before adding any of these.
4. What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your personal information.
- We don’t “share” it for advertising (what California law calls cross-context behavioral advertising).
- We don’t show ads, and we don’t use your information to target ads at you.
- We don’t build profiles about you or make decisions about you automatically in a way that has a legal or similarly significant effect.
- We don’t use analytics or advertising trackers from other companies.
- We don’t send marketing emails. We only email you about your account, security, and important changes to our policies.
- We don’t use your personal information to train AI models.
5. How and why we use your information
Under UK and EU law we need a legal reason (“lawful basis”) for each use.
| What we do | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Create and run your account, let you sign in, and save your likes | Contract: it’s needed to give you the service you asked for. |
| Keep the site secure, stop abuse and fake accounts, fix errors | Legitimate interests: we have a real need to keep the site safe and working, and we’ve made sure this doesn’t override your rights. We keep this to the minimum needed. |
| Show search results, including using an AI service to help understand what you’re searching for | Contract and legitimate interests. |
| Check your age | Legal obligation and legitimate interests (protecting children). |
| Answer your messages and requests | Legitimate interests and legal obligation. |
| Comply with the law or respond to legal requests | Legal obligation. |
| Show catalog information about sound uploaders | Legitimate interests: running a searchable catalog of public Roblox sounds. |
We don’t rely on your consent for anything at the moment. If that changes, we’ll ask you clearly and separately, and you’ll be able to say no or change your mind.
Searching with AI help: When you search, we send the text you typed to an AI service provider so we can better understand what you mean. We don’t send your name, email, or account details with it. Please don’t type personal information (like your name or phone number) into the search box.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small file a website puts on your device.
We only use essential cookies, which keep you signed in and keep your account secure. The site can’t work without them, so we don’t ask for permission. We don’t use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies.
You can delete cookies in your browser settings, but if you do, you’ll be signed out.
Your recent searches are saved in your own browser (in its local storage) so we can show them to you in the search box. They stay on your device and are not sent to us. You can clear them in the search box or by clearing your browser’s site data.
Do Not Track: Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because we don’t track you across other websites or allow other companies to do so through our site, we don’t change how the site works in response to it.
7. How long we keep your information
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Account information (email, username, date of birth, login details) and likes | Until you delete your account. |
| Deleted accounts | We delete your account and likes straight away. Copies in our backups are overwritten within 7 days. |
| Security and abuse-prevention data (like IP addresses used to limit repeated attempts) | For a short time only, then it is deleted automatically. |
| Hosting server logs | Up to 7 days, depending on our hosting provider’s settings. |
| Search text sent to our AI service provider | We don’t store it in our database. The provider may keep it for up to 30 days for safety and abuse checks, then deletes it. |
| Emails you send us | Up to 12 months after we’ve dealt with your message, unless we need to keep them longer to meet a legal duty. |
| Information about Roblox sound uploaders | While the sound stays in our catalog. You can ask us to remove it (see section 3.3). |
If the law requires us to keep something longer, we’ll keep only what we have to.
8. Who we share your information with
We don’t sell your information. We share it only with the following kinds of companies, who help us run robloxsoundz and who may only use it to provide their service to us:
- Hosting providers that run our website.
- Database and sign-in providers that store account information and handle signing in.
- Email providers that send account emails such as password resets.
- Security and rate-limiting providers that help us stop abuse.
- AI service providers that process search text (see section 5).
Roblox: We don’t send Roblox your account details. But when you play a sound, your browser connects to Roblox’s servers to get the audio (see section 3.2), and Roblox’s own privacy policy applies to what it collects when that happens.
We may also share information:
- If the law requires it, or to respond to a valid request from the police or a court.
- To protect the safety of our users or others, or to protect our rights.
- If the site is sold or transferred. If this happens, your information would stay protected under this policy, and we would tell you about any changes.
9. Transfers outside the UK
We are based in the UK, but our service providers store and process information in other countries, including the United States. For example, our database is located in the US.
When your information is sent outside the UK, we make sure it’s protected, usually with contractual safeguards approved by UK and EU regulators (such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and Standard Contractual Clauses).
You can ask us for more details by emailing support@robloxsoundz.com.
10. Your rights
You have rights over your information. They apply to you whatever your age. You don’t need a parent to make a request.
10.1 Your rights under UK and EU law
- Access: ask for a copy of your information.
- Correction: ask us to fix wrong information.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your information. You can delete your account yourself in Settings.
- Restriction: ask us to pause how we use your information.
- Objection: object to us using your information based on our legitimate interests.
- Portability: ask for your information in a format you can move elsewhere.
- Withdraw consent: where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
10.2 Your rights in the US
Depending on where you live, you may also be able to:
- know what personal information we collect, use, and share;
- access, correct, and delete it;
- get a copy of it;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of it, or of targeted advertising, or of profiling. We do none of these things.
You won’t be treated worse for using your rights.
We’re a small service and may not be legally required to follow every state privacy law. We have chosen to give these rights to everyone.
If we decline a request, we’ll explain why. You can appeal by replying to our email, and if you’re still unhappy you can contact your state attorney general.
10.3 How to use your rights
Email support@robloxsoundz.com, from the email address linked to your account if you have one. We may ask you to confirm it’s you, so we don’t give your information to someone else.
We’ll reply within one month (or 45 days for some US requests), and we don’t charge for this. Someone else can make a request for you if they prove they have your permission.
10.4 Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. If you live in the EU or elsewhere, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
11. Extra information for California residents
This section covers the last 12 months.
| Category of information | Examples | Where it came from | Why we use it | Sold or shared? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Email address, username, IP address | You; your device | To run your account and keep the site secure | No |
| Customer records | Email, username, date of birth | You | To run your account and check your age | No |
| Internet or network activity | Likes, search text, pages requested | You; your device | To run the service and keep it secure | No |
| Sensitive personal information: account log-in details | Email and password | You | Only to sign you in and protect your account | No |
- We don’t sell or share personal information, including that of anyone under 16.
- We don’t use sensitive personal information for anything other than providing the service and keeping it secure.
- Shine the Light: We don’t share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.
- Users under 18 in California can remove content they’ve posted on robloxsoundz. At the moment, the only content you create is your likes, which you can remove yourself. Email us if you’d like help. Removal doesn’t always mean every trace disappears from backups or other copies.
12. Information for teens (13 to 17)
- Please don’t use your real name as a username, and don’t type personal information (like your address, school, or phone number) into the search box or anywhere else on the site.
- We don’t show ads and don’t send you marketing.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
- If something doesn’t feel right, or you want help with your information, email support@robloxsoundz.com. You can also ask a parent or trusted adult for help.
- If we add features that let other people see your profile or activity, they will be off by default and we will ask you first.
13. Keeping your information safe
We use technical and organisational measures to protect your information, such as protecting passwords, encrypting data in transit, and limiting who can access information. No system is completely secure. If a data breach is likely to put you at risk, we will tell you and the regulators as the law requires.
Please keep your password safe and don’t share it.
14. Links to other sites
robloxsoundz may link to other websites (such as Roblox). We don’t control them and they have their own privacy policies. Please read them.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when we add features or when the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
If we make an important change, we’ll email you or put a clear notice on the site before it starts. If we want to use your information in a new way that needs your consent, we’ll ask you first.
